Riley McNurlan

8-month old, Riley McNurlan, entertained me for the afternoon with his curiosity and bright blue eyes in Queenstown, Maryland.  His family , including pets, all got in on the session and were excellent at keeping Riley focused and camera ready.  With big beautiful windows, and natural sunlight entering the house the photographs reflect the families style and fresh approach to life.  I was very impressed with Riley’s room, where his dad painted a Dr. Seuss theme from ceiling to floor.  Best of luck to the little charmer and family!

Location Scouting

Downtown Annapolis, MD is, for the moment, fulfilling my desire to seek out exotic lands with her beautiful lines, history, and layers of brick.  Until my passport is used again, I am exploring various backgrounds and lighting options around the area for future photo sessions.  Usually I prefer the funky colors of the old buildings but felt these shots look more dramatic in black & white.

Sneak Peek

Sneak peek of an idea I am in the process of developing entitled the: “I Spy Annapolis Project”.  Annapolis, Maryland is filled with a ton of interesting design aspects and colors.  The goal of this project will be in the spirit of a scavenger hunt, taking some great images of places in and out of local shops, bars, and landmarks in which participants will try to guess and locate them all.  Obviously there will be a fantastic prize for the winner.  If you like this idea please feel free to comment below by guessing where some of these pictures are from.

Taylor Family

The Taylor Family: Lauren, John, Leah, and Claire Anne and I met at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland for a perfect fall day shoot.  Huge trees around burst with yellows, reds, and oranges giving us beautiful natural backgrounds to work with.  The girls, in between playing around, patiently awaited to be photographed and were full of laughter.  Parents Lauren & John were beyond prepared for the session making for great color-coordinated images.  Highlight of the day: when John took each of the girls and rolled down the hill with them!  Lovely to meet you all.

Tourist Week

Annapolis, Maryland.  Images taken at night during the U.S. Powerboat show where all the tourists mixed with the locals inside keeping dry during rain storms.  Many were also still in town from last week’s U.S. Sailboat Show.

Reynolds Family

Reynolds Family Photo Session near Hemingway’s on the Eastern Shore in Maryland.  The shoot was very laid back, casual, and full of laughter. Pictured we have the children: Abby, Rylee, Erin, and parents: Carrie and Matt.  Carrie & Matt make a sweet yet strong couple and all three children had beautiful, individual personalities that kept me on my toes from start to finish. Thank you all for a great morning and Congratulations Carrie and Matt on your upcoming 10 year anniversary!

Katie Lewis

Cute-as-can-be, 5 year-old, Katie Lewis on a photo shoot in Annapolis, Maryland.  The weather was fantastic and we shot during the afternoon when several events and festivals were happening making for a very upbeat day.  Katie, along with her mother, Amy Lewis, made everything so easy and carefree with their laid back attitudes and good moods.  For doing such an excellent job, Katie not only got to roll down the hill, but got ice cream on main street too!

Barren Baltimore

On a photo assignment with The Park Advocate in Baltimore, Maryland.  We spent a considerable amount of time capturing images for stories showing just how “unkept” certain areas of our city look.  Along the way we met some lively characters and observed a variety of different living conditions. Kammerer Sisters

Sisters, Jacklyn and Julie Kammerer, here together on a photo shoot in Annapolis Maryland.  These two were fantastic troopers-the hot summer heat tried to get the best of us, but we pressed on.  The session was effortless because of their great style mixed with the funky side streets of Annapolis. Thanks for keeping such great attitudes and making me laugh the whole time ladies!
